Global Evangelistic Ministries (GEM)

GEM is a ministry designed to evangelize the world, beginning with our immediate community.Too often, we zealously try to concentrate our attention and resources to far away countries, when right at our back doors, in fact at our very front doors, there are great needs - spiritual, physical, mental, financial, emotional and social. Acts 1: 8 states that "we are to begin at our Jerusalem our hometowns, Judea, our surrounding communities, then out of that experience we will be equipped to take on the world for Jesus".

The church today believes that it is taboo to show humans, God’s choice creation, those for whom God gave His only begotten Son that provision was made for them to live beyond this miserable world. We do not hear the word Hell from the pulpit anymore, we hear about heaven at funerals. The words that dominate sermons now are Money, prosperity, wealth and materialism.

Global Evangelistic Ministries is committed to presenting the word of God in its context and as “It Is Written”. We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God (I TIMOTHY 3:16. All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness), and must not be modified to suit our modern way of living.

Statement of Faith

God

We believe in one true living God, who is the beginning and the end. That He is the creator of the entire universe. That He is perfect in all his ways. He is all mighty, omnipotent (all powerful), and omniscient (all knowing) what was, what is, and what is to come. He is omnipresent (God is everywhere present). God is a Spirit and is therefore not subject to human limitations. God is immutable which means, He is absolutely unchangeable. He is Holy in all His ways. He is the eternal triune God who reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible is without doubt the inspired word of God and was written by men who received divine revelation and inspiration from God. The Holy Scripture is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. God is its author, salvation its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, its substance. Therefore, all scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation. The Scripture is the standard by which all human conduct, creeds and religious opinions should be tried.

The Church

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a living organism. The Church is an autonomous local congregation of Baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two Sacraments of Christ, governed by his laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His word.. The vocation of the Church is to worship God and to glorify Him on the earth, to evangelize the world with the gospel, to develop each individual Christian until he attains unto the fullness of the stature of Christ and a constant witness for Christ and His word. The Congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. Each member in congregation is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord. The Christians waits in anticipation of the second advent of Christ, when we shall dwell wit Him forever.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an outward confession of faith through obedience, symbolizing the believers’ faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in a newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is the Christian’s testimony of his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Being a church ordinance, it is the prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord’s Supper. All who accept the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives and have been baptized, have accepted the invitation to the gospel supper and are sure to be present at the marriage supper of the Lamb,. They have the privilege of enjoying the Lord’s Supper in the meantime,. At his communion service the congregation participates in a present activity, which commemorates a past event and looks forward to a future consummation. It is a feast of love, a memorial of faith and a prophesy of hope.

Evangelism and Missions

Pastors and missionaries are not the only ones who enjoy the privilege and responsibility of spreading the gospel or good news of Jesus Christ. The new birth of man’s spirit by God’s Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Every child of God bears some responsibility and is privileged to bring souls to the saving knowledge of Christ. All are representatives of Christ and are therefore the ones through whom the gospel must be preached. Missionary activity is of primary importance; it is the source of blessing upon the local congregation and must be supported through prayers and financial gifts. Missionary efforts on the part of all rests thus upon a spiritual necessity of the regenerate life, and is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ Has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations.  It is the duty and privilege of every follower of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations.. It is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness under girded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ.

The Family

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is a lifelong monogamous relationship, Mark 10: 2-12 between a man and a woman to be established in a home separate from that of the parents, Genesis 2:24,Ephesians 5: 31. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race. The Husband is given the place of headship, but he is to love his wife as Christ loved the Church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, protect and preserve his family through spiritual leadership. The wife is given the place of subjection to her husband, but she is to have a place of honor in the home. She is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the Church submits to the leadership of Christ.
Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.
